Mundingburra Movies PDF Print E-mail

Mundingburra has made several award winning movies at a local, state and national level. These movies enhance our literacy program while teaching children about emotions. "The Book Movie" looks at how hardcover books were made by over half of the school, while the "Dragon" movie is one of the books made into a movie which teaches children about Emotional Awareness for Behaviour Choice (EABC). "Dragon" won the 2005 Australian Primary Schools (Dream a Better World) Short Film Festival and is currently being used as a resource by the AVT for Autism for the Townsville District, Colin Ross.

In addition, in 2006 and 2007 we created several more award winning movies. In 2006, "Delivery Dan the Ice Cream" achieved best primary school short film at the Gulalbi short film festival, while "A Fruity Fairy Tale" also won best short film for a primary school at the 2007 Gulalbi Festival. However, "The Adventures of Twinkle, Trickle and Splashie" is our most recognised movie thus far. It has achieved the following:

  • Best Movie at the 2006 Dream-A-Better World Primary School Australian Short Film Festival, Coomera, Gold Coast
  • Best Primary School Animated Movie at the 2006 Australian Centre for Moving Images, Melbourne
  • Best Animated Movie at the Thuringowa Riverview Gulalbi Short Film Festival and,
  • Best Primary School Showreel Movie BIAF award at the Riverfestival Brisbane 2007, as well as,
  • Runner up in the Open Category at the Riverfestival Brisbane 2007

However, we have just recently finished another movie entitled "We're ARC Supporters" which could bring us as much if not more recognition. Our latest movie was chosen as the best out of thousands to take out the 2007 Australian Recycled Cartonboard award of $10 000.00.

The movies are in Shockwave Macromedia format. Because they are fairly large (approx 5mB) they may take several minutes to download. Please enjoy!
